Below is a list of questions we are frequently asked.
If you're a nervous patient looking for a dentist in Peterborough, there are a few things you can do to make sure you find the right fit for you. We get many of our patients through word of mouth, so asking your friends and family for recommendations is often a good place to start. If you know someone who has had a good experience with their dentist, they'll be able to put your mind at ease.
Second, take a look at online reviews and do some research. Here at The Smile Boutique, we have years of experience working with anxious patients in our Peterborough dental practice and are dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming and safe feeling environment to help you overcome your nerves. Alongside our calming environment, we also offer additional services for our nervous patients to help them deal with any anxiety they may be experiencing.
If you’re nervous about taking a trip to the dentist, why not reach out to our team? We’d be glad to help put your mind at ease.
It’s never too soon to bring your child to the dentist for that first visit, and we generally recommend that parents bring their children to see us as soon as their first tooth erupts, or around the age of one. This may seem early, but it's important to establish good dental habits from a young age.
At the first appointment, the dentist will check for any signs of tooth decay or other problems, or they may not even look at your child’s mouth, depending on their age and how confident they’re feeling. At this early age, trips to the dentist are more about introducing your child to a dentist in Peterborough who they can see for regular check-ups, without feeling nervous.
We understand how difficult it can be to find a family dentist in Peterborough that can offer all of the services you or your family could need, as well as feeling comfortable that it’s the right place for you. It can feel tempting to register with different dental practices in order to tick all the boxes, but there are plenty of benefits of joining a family dentist that can make keeping up with your oral healthcare much more straightforward.
By establishing a relationship with a local dentist, you can ensure that your family's oral health needs are being met. Whether it’s routine cleanings and examinations, or more specialized services such as teeth whitening or orthodontic work. In addition, a family dentist can provide guidance on proper oral hygiene habits and help you to identify potential problems early. By seeing a family dentist on a regular basis, you can keep your smile healthy and beautiful for years to come, whilst establishing good dental habits in your children too.
Not to mention the convenience of scheduling appointments for all the family on the same date and in the same location!
Our dentists recommend that you visit us at least once every six months. This allows us to monitor your oral health and catch any problems early. However, if you have a history of dental problems, you may need to visit more often. We will be able to advise you on how often you should schedule appointments during your initial consultation.
