Dentist is all smiles over Olympic role

A CITY dentist has been selected to treat all of Team GB's sporting heroes.
Athletes, including Rebecca Adlington, Tom Daley and Chris Hoy, not to mention the city’s very own Olympic bronze medallist, Louis Smith, could now choose The Smile Boutique, in Park Road, Peterborough, for their dental check- ups.

Called the Olympic Passport Scheme, the idea was established in 1996 and is designed to offer exclusive benefits to athletes.

After assessing the skills of the dentists, and the treatments they offer, the dental practice was put forward then selected to represent the 2012 Olympic team.

Practice manager Cheryl Lawrence said: “We are delighted to be selected to represent all of our sporting heroes over the next few years.

“We are quite surprised to be picked as we thought the majority of dentists would be picked from London.

“It is also a credit to our practice and our staff whose work and skills were recognised in this selection process.”
